‘Akelty’ is the Lower Arrernt word for ‘blind’. (see Breen) ‘... Akiltja, also known as McKenzie’s Waterhole, where there was a stockyard’ (Mulvaney, D.J. Petch, A., Morphy, H. (2000) p.183-4. McKenzie’s waterhole may refer to the brother’s Kenneth and Angas McKenzie whom Spencer and Gillen met on the 23rd of March, 1901.
