Class System of "Ilpirra" and of some Arunta
Bulthara
Apungerta
Panunga
Ukngaria
For sake of simplifying matters I am taking it for granted that children are male.

The above is marriage and descent system of the Ilpirra tribe who join the Arunta (and intermarry with them). On the northern fringe of the Arunta we find the eight class names used by those who dovetail in the north the Ilpira and the blacks tell me that the adoption of the 8 classes is increasing. The system has only been in use amongst the Arunta since the advent of the White man in the country. I know families who have adopted the system quite recently
