My dear Howitt, We have been very busy lately in the University which must be my excuse for not having written to you. The R.S. & the Field Club have arranged to hold a joint meeting on Ap. 21st at which we hope to have the pleasure of presenting to you the first of the Mueller medals. From your letter I understand that you will stay with us on the nights of April 20 & 21st & that Miss Howitt will stay with us on the 21st. I have not returned the drawings which Miss Howitt sent to me and unless you would like me to send them to you I will keep them here until you

come to Melbourne.

I should very much have liked to have had Fison with us for one evening while you were here but do not see how it is possible to do so. Do you think that it would be possible for Dr & Mrs Fison to dine with us on Ap. 20th & for me to arrange to drive them out to Essendon. Our accommodation is so limited that I cannot possible offer to keep them for the night but if it were possible to ask them to dine with us on that night & afterwards to arrange with my man to drive them home I would gladly do this. Will you let me know if you think that this could be arranged for as you are better able than myself to judge whether Fison & Mrs Fison are equal to this. If you think it advisable I will ask them to come & will arrange with my man so that they can be driven home without any trouble.

I should very much like

an evening with you & Fison before you go home to England if we can possibly arrange it but I will not write to Fison until I hear from you.

Yours very sincerely
