Braithwaite Gillen Collection

Two photographic albums were scanned as part of the Spencer and Gillen ARC project 05/2010. Most of the images in these albums relate to Gillen's family life in Alice Springs. Some are the same as images in the S.A. Museum collection, but contain more documentation. Also in the collection is a silver tray and teapot presented to F.J.Gillen on his marriage to Amelia Besley. The tray is inscribed by Gillen's fellow officers in the Central section of the Overland Telegraph Line. There's also an interesting album of newspaper clippings, etc, some from obscure papers.
