This name was sourced from Olive Pink’s annotated copy of ‘The Arunta’. According to Pink this woman is depicted on page 39 of Vol 1. Pink has commented at the front of the book ‘Women (with baby on shoulder) ‘Jockey Jim’s’ wife - his wife, after being mistress of Riley - a white man (Now quite blind).’
On page 39 she has written: ‘ Jockey Jim (his wife now blind!!) Not first - but mistress of Riley of Broken Hill way) “Ordnear” - quiet snake).’
Pink’s ‘Ordnear’ is probably Utneye - woma snake.
