Physical Description

Single sheet of unlined paper with a pencilled rubbing of one half of a carved tjurunga. Handwritten inscriptions in pencil along one edge of the carving identify features of the engraving. The sheet is inscribed 'C' (circled), and is numbered '2' with alignment marks along bottom edge of sheet. Hole in paper, top left. Scuff-marks of red ochre on both sides.

Primary Comments

Pencil Rubbings of churingas some created in 1896 and some created in 1897. Published in "The Arunta". The segment of the tjurunga shown in this rubbing features two concentric circles and four sets of parallel lines, and one set of dotted lines near the tip.
