Physical Description

Single sheet of unlined paper with pencil rubbings of three segments (two ends and middle) of a single, engraved tjurunga. Handwritten inscriptions, in pencil, describe features of the carving. The sheet is inscribed 'C' (circled) and '1' in bottom right corner. The reverse of the sheet is scuff-marked with red ochre.

Primary Comments

Pencil Rubbings of churingas some created in 1896 and some created in 1897. Published in "The Arunta". The upper of the three rubbings features three concentric circles, three sets of parallel lines, and dotted 'tracks'. The lower rubbing features two circles, three sets of lines, and dotted 'tracks'. The middle section features a set of parallel lines and two 'cropped' circles'.
