Field diary of Horn Expedition to Central Australia. Annotation inside front cover in pencil: "Horn Expd 1894 Ethno. Notes from Gillen at Alice Springs" Also contains a separate list of 82 photographic prints taken, a letter from John Batt (removed see XM 5855) and a pressed plant specimen. The diary largely contains general details animals etc. Anthropological notes from Gillen Diary trips down from Alice Springs.
