My dear Miss Howitt,
Very many thanks for your note which has just come being reposted by mistake. I have sent the information on to Mr Fletcher but as he is out of Sydney it will not reach him for a few days.
At all events it gives him a part of what he wants & something that he had not been able to find out. I will try and get into communication with Mrs Thompson though I fear it is very unlikely she will be able to afford any information in regard to

the Macleay association unless by good chance they have preserved the Dr's correspondence. As yet I can find no trace of this in connection with the collection.

As you say it would be a relief if one could aeroplane to the daughters' homes at intervals.

My wife goes over to the west shortly but it is a far-cry to Scotland and also under present conditions a very expensive one.

With many thanks & kindest of regards

Yours very sincerely

W. Baldwin Spencer.
