A journey through Aboriginal Australia
am afraid that it is not possible just at present. I have to lecture at the University every morning at 9 am. but when this term is over I might be able to come to Bairnsdale - say some time in September which would probably be better for you rather than in mid-winter.
The only trouble is that unless you have someone there who can run a cinematograph I should have to bring a man from Melbourne.
I could of course lecture with lantern slides only but the "moving pictures" of the native dances make it much more attractive & also they are of course unique especially if I could lecture in a Hall with a special "cinematograph" room so that the noise if the machine is not heard by the audience. This makes it possible to show the dances & hear the phonographic records of the songs at the same time. With very many thanks & kindest regards from Lady Spencer & myself
Yours most sincerely
W. Baldwin Spencer.
