Photographioc print of a bronze relief memorial plaque depicting Sir Walter Baldwin Spencer. The plaque, created by Paul Montford of the War Memorial, was unveiled at Melbourne University in 1930. The inscription reads: ‘Sir Walter Baldwin Spencer KC, MC, FRS. First Professor of Biology 1887 University of Melbourne 1919.’ Spencer is depicted holding a stone axe and the background features Aboriginal petroglyphs.
