Spencer and Gillen Wax Cylinder Recordings
RGSSA has 12 wax cylinders and associated documentation of recordings of Arrernte songs, recorded in Central Australia during the 190-02 expedition. Abstract of Spencer & Gillen’s journal (spine title) intended for use on the expedition. Note that this is a printed Abstract of journal, intended to be completed during the course of an expedition, but never so completed. Each page bears printed lines for Date, Camp number, weather information, native names of features, position of waters, geology, botany, fauna etc etc. Also a number of copy prints of Spencer and Gillen photographs. Wax Cylinder Collection - not yet registered.
